It is always fascinating to witness President Trump's talent as an orator and a storyteller.
His emotive style is an entertainment in itself. Far from being a mere 'word salad' as described by President Obama, the President's flow of words, delivered in a velvety drawl is also quite hypnotic.

Throw-away, slave-labour-produced Chinese imports must continue pouring into their stores for maximum profits.
Don't hold your breath about a renaissance of American manufacturing either.
With President Trump, it is all about real estate, hence his invitation, as a guest of honour, of Emirati real estate billionaire specialising in luxury apartments, Hussain Sajwani, at his speech ahead of inauguration, in Mar-a-Lago on January 8. Real estate speculation is easily-created jobs in construction and points of GDP to brag about. It is also easy profits, except for the construction companies themselves, who keep going to the wall.
By comparison, promoting manufacturing is hard, long-term work, and an understanding of physics, engineering, resources and logistics, all fields in which President Trump's ignorance is abysmal. Wily businessman that he is, President Trump has certainly picked up on the opportunities immigration presents for him: winning votes by exploiting the feeling of displacement of Caucasian Americans facing a massive influx of migrants, while pushing his autocratic and patriarchal persona to tap into the reactionary and chauvinistic underlay often characteristic of Hispanic and other migrant cultures, and reap their votes too.
